Activities & Trips

The city of Oxford, with its large student population in two universities and several colleges, provides a great range of opportunities for leisure and social activities. The traditional Oxford pastime of punting on the river is very popular in summer.

The county of Oxfordshire is renowned for being one of the most beautiful areas in the UK and the Cotswold Hills, on the doorstep of Oxford, are very popular with walkers and cyclists.

You will also have the opportunity to visit some of Britain’s most famous and historical cities and sights, including London, Bath, Blenheim Palace, Warwick, Stratford-Upon-Avon, Stonehenge and Winchester.

OLC offers some fun cultural activities and social events throughout the year. These include buffet lunches, punting on the river and visits to the MINI Plant (the birthplace and heart of MINI production) and Oxford University’s
famous Sheldonian Theatre.

Inclusive cultural, social and sporting activities

During breaktime and at lunchtime students have a chance to borrow a book from the Book Club. A refundable deposit of £10 is charged before lending.

During the Summer School or on demand, we offer a Conversation Club, which is an extremely fun and interactive way for students to practise their English speaking skills in an informal environment.

As for students enrolled on the Vacation Summer School programme, they have the opportunity to participate in cultural and sporting activities each weekday afternoon as part of their package. For further details, please see our Summer School page.

Excursions

If you would like to make a trip to famous cities, such as Bath or Cambridge, or visit interesting places like Stonehenge or the Cotswolds, we can provide you with information on such trips (organised by a UK tour company) and how to book a place.

As for students enrolled on the Vacation Summer School programme, they have the opportunity to participate in a full day excursion each Saturday as part of their package. For further details, please see our Summer School page.
