English for Academic Study (EAS)
Effective command of academic English is vital for students’ success in further study at Foundation and A Level and at British universities. This course is for students preparing to study, or who are already studying academic subjects in English. Classes focus on language needs for higher level study and include:
- note taking
- listening to lectures
- making presentations
- participating in academic discussions
- essay writing
- efficient academic reading
- familiarisation with British university life
The course can be taken together with IELTS preparation, or as part of an Abacus College academic programme.
Additional options: You will also have the option of combining this with additional hours of specialist English language preparation in your chosen subject area (to be charged at individual tuition or small group tuition rate).
